Brazilian Waxing in Mombasa: A First-Timer's Honest Guide
Nervous about your first Brazilian wax? Here is exactly what to expect, how to prepare, and how to make it as comfortable as possible.

First — you are not alone
Most women feel a little nervous before their first Brazilian. By the second visit, it feels like any other appointment. The trick is choosing a therapist who is calm, hygienic and quick.
How to prepare
- Grow hair to about the length of a grain of rice (2–3 weeks after shaving)
- Exfoliate the day before with a soft scrub — this frees ingrown hairs
- Avoid caffeine in the hour before; it makes skin more sensitive
- Wear loose cotton underwear to your appointment
- Try to avoid the days right before your period, when skin is most sensitive
What happens in the room
The therapist will step out while you get ready and cover you with a clean towel. Warm wax is applied in small sections and removed quickly. The whole treatment takes 20–30 minutes.
Aftercare that prevents bumps
- No hot showers, sauna, gym or swimming for 24 hours
- Wear loose clothing that day
- Start gentle exfoliation again after 3 days
- Moisturise daily to keep skin soft and prevent ingrowns
